CEO optimistic for future with a renewed focus and an Innovative Professional Development Prospectus
If New Zealand’s private and public sector organizations are to thrive, up-skilling staff and management is essential. Recent years have been challenging with the global financial crisis and the Canterbury earthquakes. New Zealand reacted to this by downsizing the public sector and retrenchment in the private sector.
With the worst of the crisis behind us and the Canterbury rebuild under way, it is time to provide the capacity to create and embrace emerging opportunities.
Private training organizations are at the forefront of providing innovative professional development. “We pride ourselves on our flexibility and ability to deliver the latest, research-based, practical workshops,” said the New Zealand School of Business and Government’s (SBG) CEO and Head of School, Amelia Longuet. SBG provides tailored, innovative and engaging professional development that “enhances skills” and contributes directly to “the bottom line.”
SBG began in 1987 and has offered Public Sector workshops as well as range of business courses. The School underwent a management change in mid 2012 with the retirement of its original founder.
“Last year – 2012 – was a challenging year,” said Amelia Longuet. ”SBG transitioned to a new management team and dealt with legacy issues.”
The School has successfully navigated this transition and has worked closely with NZQA and Immigration New Zealand to ensure that it meets all regulatory requirements. The School is now poised to deliver the professional development that will see organisations well placed to take advantage of the opportunities in 2013 and onwards.
“We are very optimistic for the future with a renewed focus and an Innovative Professional Development Prospectus for the year ahead,” said Amelia.
